office organizer

The idea for this project came up during my internship at werk5. I was living quite minimalistically at the time and wanted to build my own clothes rack. The main part of the organizer is actually bought online, its a simple kitchen drawer made out of aluminum. At the time I was designing this, I could not efficiently use CAD or CAM. I measured the drawers and planed a bit in my notebook after a colleague of mine prepared the CAM for the base part while I prepared the raw material for the mill and the sides. The material I used is an artificial material made of stone and acrylic. There are several companies that make it, but I used CORIAN here. I actually made two of them because they are so easy to produce in quantity. After production, I started assembling and finishing the sharp edges. This is my first project that I finished by photos and the oldest that I present here. I could do it much faster now and compared to the other furniture this one is actually cost effective and could be produced in larger quantities while the others are more artistic.
