coffee table

As the name suggests, the aluminium table is an aluminium optic sofa table with a wooden structure inside to reduce weight and increase stability. The wood itself has holes milled into it to reduce the weight even further.
Initially planned as a mosaic coffee table with small 50x50 mm tiles covering the entire surface, I had to change the design at short notice. The outer dimensions are still in line with the size of four mosaic tile mats for the top and bottom, with two on each side. I glued 1 mm aluminium sheets to the wooden frame on the top and bottom, and added screws to attach the sheets to the sides. With four furniture feet, the table is elevated slightly off the floor and is adjustable in height. Building on prior projects, I was able to create an easily moveable design with seemingly no negative impact on the design itself. One thing I would try to improve is the visibility of the screws on the outer walls to achieve a cleaner look.
