There are all kinds of projects and types of work. Sometimes you do things because you want to, sometimes because you have to, and sometimes things go in a completely different direction while you’re working on them. Other times, you just attach an aluminium plate to a wooden frame. Honestly, I would be lying if I told anyone that I put much thought into it. I just thought, ‘Why plaster a wall but not furniture?’ It doesn’t have a specific function other than to elevate whatever you want; I’m currently using it as a plant stand. Although it was an intrusive thought, I may use it for another project as well. Plaster definitely has its pros and cons as a material. It is as hard as rock once dry, but can be sculpted into any shape you like. Gravity is your worst enemy when using it, and it makes you, your clothes and your surroundings hate you. To make it stick firmly, you should use XPS plates to apply it. I would classify this project as a study rather than a finished project. Be kind to him.
